Saving energy and monitoring energy consumption in university buildings

Most of the buildings in Ukraine's educational institutions are old and were not built with energy consumption in mind. There is great potential for energy savings, not least because part of the energy consumption is due to the behaviour of the users. The project reduces the energy consumption of seven university buildings. To this end, automated energy monitoring systems will initially be set up with the help of customised software. The project offers training to operate and evaluate these systems. The content of the courses will also be integrated into existing curricula. Finally, the experience gained will be publicised via webinars and university websites and also passed on to the relevant ministries and decision-makers, in order to replicate energy efficiency measures.
