UNDP Funding Windows – Nature Pledge Flagship

This fund contribution to the UNDP Nature Pledge Initiative accelerates and expands the implementation of the partner countries' national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs). This is done in coordination with the national adaptation plans (NAPs) and the nationally determined contributions (NDCs). This facilitates the provision of timely and direct technical and financial support to country requests received through the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership's matchmaking mechanism. The priorities include the strengthening of competences and implementation structures, the restoration of ecosystems and the expansion of protected areas. Furthermore, incentive systems for enhanced biodiversity management and the redirection of financial flows are currently being developed. Other priorities include the mobilisation of private investment, environmental communication and the mainstreaming of biodiversity in various policy areas.
