Accelerating NDC and promoting sustainable bioenergy, agri and land-use practices in Ukraine

To transition and rebuild into a low-carbon and green economy in Ukraine, the measures outlined under Ukraine’s current NDC continue to be important to implement as fast as possible. The Project aims to accelerate Ukraine’s NDC implementation, specifically by promoting the uptake of investments in sustainable bioenergy, agri and land-use practices, and to support the operationalisation of carbon market mechanisms. It contributes to green transition and reconstruction by helping to meet its climate objectives, mobilise domestic and international climate finance and unlock bioenergy potential through a combination of capacity, policy and investment support. Specifically, the Project will strengthen the enabling environment to incentivise the uptake of investments in sustainable bioenergy, soil productivity and sustainable land management practices. The project supports the Government of Ukraine in implementing the climate policies and priority actions under its current NDC and other related green policies.
