Accelerating NDC and promoting sustainable bioenergy, agri and land-use practices in Ukraine
To transition and rebuild into a low-carbon economy in Ukraine, the measures outlined under Ukraine’s current NDC continue to be important and need to be implemented as fast as possible. The project accelerates Ukraine’s NDC implementation, specifically by promoting the uptake of investments in sustainable bioenergy, agri and land-use practices. Furthermore, it supports the operationalisation of carbon market mechanisms. It contributes to low carbon transition and reconstruction by helping to meet Ukraine’s climate targets, mobilise domestic and international climate finance and unlock bioenergy potential through a combination of capacity, policy and investment support. The work will strengthen the enabling environment to incentivise the uptake of investments in sustainable bioenergy, soil productivity and land management. The project supports Ukraine in implementing climate policies and actions to meet the economy-wide GHG emissions reduction target and other related green policies.
