Support Project for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement – Phase IV (SPA 4.0)

Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are not sufficient to comply with the Paris Agreement. At the same time, implementing the targets remains a challenge for many countries. The project therefore supports the further development and implementation of national climate plans and strategies, the transparent recording of progress, and the stronger alignment of financial resources with climate-friendly development. It provides analysis and advisory services for international climate and development cooperation, strengthens partnerships such as the NDC Partnership and the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA), and supports selected partner countries. In addition, it develops knowledge products, exchange and learning formats for policymakers and technical experts. A key focus is on better linking climate policy, investment planning, and financing in order to align public and private financial flows more strongly with climate targets.
