Rainforest Conservation and Support for the Indigenous Population in the Amazon Basin

The project's objective was to develop a suitable methodology for REDD+ based on a forest conservation project in the buffer zones around Peru’s Manú National Park. In addition to preserving the rainforest and supporting indigenous peoples in the Peruvian Amazon, these efforts served as a contribution to the international REDD+ debate within the scope of the Framework Convention on Climate Change (IPCC). The project should be further developed by way of external REDD+ validation and preparation of a long-term financing plan.
