IKI Gender Community of Practice #8 – Strong together: Engaging men and boys for Gender justice! Session A
The empowerment of women and girls is necessary to successfully combat climate change. Therefore, strengthening women’s participation and visibility requires addressing structural inequalities and barriers that are often perpetuated by men. In addition to stereotypical male behaviour as one of the main drivers of climate change, men hold leadership and decision‑making positions both in climate‑policy arenas and at the local project implementation level. Under the title “Strong together: Engaging men and boys for gender justice!” the IKI Gender Community of Practice (IKI GCoP) aims to discuss how men can be included, tackling gender injustice in climate conservation, and how we can foster the concept of “allyship” for women and girls. Let’s step together into a yet underrepresented perspective on gender justice in climate change.
We are looking forward to your participation at the GCoP#8 on the 13th October 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM CEST or on the 15th of October 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM CEST.
