Marine Protected Areas, Extractive Reserves and Ramsar Sites

Join us on 14 November 2025 (16:00–18:00) at the Ocean House (Casa do Oceano), outside the official COP30 venue, for an engaging dialogue on Marine Protected Areas, Extractive Reserves, and Ramsar Sites. Organized by ICMBio, MMA, GIZ/TerraMar, and Voice of the Ocean, the event will highlight Brazil’s progress and challenges in conserving marine and coastal ecosystems. Discussions will emphasize how these protected areas contribute to biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and the livelihoods of local and traditional communities, strengthening global commitments to ocean protection.
