Nature-Based Solutions for Sustainable Conservation of African Biodiversity

In this half-day online course, participants will explore Nature-Based Solutions to address biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation in Africa.

This inaugural course from the CABES Online Trainer Coaching Programme is a unique opportunity to deepen understanding of the human drivers behind ecosystem degradation in Africa and to discover how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can be applied to mitigate biodiversity loss.

After the course, participants will be:

• able to describe ecosystem services derived from African forests, savannas, and wetlands
• aware of the main human drivers of ecosystem degradation in Africa
• able to define the concept of NbS
• able to discuss NbS approaches that can be adopted to mitigate biodiversity degradation in Africa.
