Plan to Accelerate Solutions (PAS) Implementation Workshop “Steel Decarbonization Roundtable"

High-level roundtable convening governments, initiatives working on steel decarbonization, and international organizations under the Steel Breakthrough to align efforts, showcase progress, and scale solutions for near-zero emission steel in line with the COP30 Plan to Accelerate Solutions.

Expected Outcomes:

1. Stronger alignment and collaboration among initiatives – Emerging consensus on how to better coordinate actions across governments, industry platforms, and international organizations to advance near-zero emission steel under the Plan to Accelerate Solutions.
2. Shared priorities and pathways for action – Agreement on the key areas where collective effort is most needed—strengthening standards, scaling demand, advancing R&D and pilots, aligning trade frameworks, and mobilizing finance and technical support, particularly in EMDEs.
3. Foundations for long-term partnership and delivery – Outlining shared priorities and mechanisms to sustain collaboration beyond COP30, including continued coordination, joint reporting, and a roadmap for measurable progress toward 2030 targets.
