Regional Collaboration for Healthy Oceans: Moving towards the establishment of a Marine and Coastal Protected Areas Network in the Southeast Pacific

The Permanent Commission of the Southeast Pacific, the Save the Blue Five Project, and their allies seek to call for ocean action and promote regional cooperation in the Southeast Pacific.

In this regard, during the event, a commitment to build a Regional Marine and Coastal Protected Areas Network (RAMPAS) will be announced.

The objective of this regional MPA network is to foster holistic and coordinated management, monitoring, and surveillance to achieve ecological, political, and social connectivity in the Southeast Pacific, involving coastal and island communities as well as new generations.

Through a facilitated panel discussion, the dialogue and knowledge exchange among regional ocean management initiatives and high-level-representatives will be strenghtened.
