Transforming the Power Sector by 2030

Electricity demand is growing rapidly, while new grid infrastructure can take years to plan, permit and build. This COP31 side event, co-organised by MENALINKS, explores how countries can make better use of existing networks through flexibility, grid optimisation, storage and grid-enhancing technologies. Bringing together government, grid operators and technical assistance providers, the discussion will focus on practical experience and the conditions needed to deploy proven solutions at scale.

The event will take place on Tuesday, 10 November, from 09:00 to 10:00 TRT at the IRENA Global Renewables Hub in the Blue Zone. Please register your interest to participate here: forms.cloud.microsoft/e/D8BeU7V5B6.
