Against a backdrop of ongoing forest degradation and the search for alternatives for FLR, this report documents attempts to re-integrate natural timber species in modern plantation forestry in Paraguay. With the support of the IKI, Unique, the University of Asunción, and the Volendam Cooperative harvested seeds from native species, which were then planted by Forest Companies to explore best practices in silviculture. Given the scarce systematic attempts of natural timber seed collection in the country, the report valuable experiences during the implementation of this project.
