With the Bonn Challenge, Guatemala has committed to restoring 1.2 million hectares of forest by 2020. This commitment is included in the National Forest Restoration Strategy. In this context, the project ForestValues, implemented by Fundación Defensores de la Naturaleza, Heifer International Guatemala and OroVerde, started in 2015. The main objective of ForestValues is to support communities located in protected areas in the restoration of degraded land.
