The Indonesian Country Study with the title “Strengthening the Indonesian climate governance in energy sector towards achieving the NDC target” identified major barriers for a low-emission national energy transition, such as needing to extract fossil fuels in order to fund their energy transition, inadequate legal framework to support investment into renewable energy development, and the lack of transparency and coordination amongst key institutions.
