The animated video explains the possible impacts of natural disasters and insufficient preparing for these threats on small businesses, farmers and governments. Following the example of Mia, a fictitious owner of a small hotel in a town which is prone to natural disasters, the video introduces the disaster risk management cycle. This concept contains insurance and other risk transfer instruments, which can help people like Mia preventing damage by extreme weather events to herself, her business or her community.
