Empowering indigenous peoples and other citizens to exercise their rights to participate in climate policy
Bolivian civil society is largely uninformed about climate change, its effects and the dimensions of the climate crisis. It lacks the necessary organisation and opportunities to articulate climate protection measures. This applies in particular to indigenous peoples, women and young people, who are thus unable to exercise their rights to participate in shaping national climate policy. The project therefore strengthens civil society and promotes its active participation in the formulation of strategies, policies and alternatives to respond to the threats and impacts of the climate crisis with justice and social balance. It promotes civil society participation through participatory processes in order to make progress on the Bolivian State's commitments with regard to the updates of the Bolivian NDC.
