Global support for intersectoral action on SDG 6 in the Water-Climate-Biodiversity Nexus (ActBlue)

To address the global water crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 of the 2030 Agenda the project will advance implementation of the UN 2023 Water Conference outcomes to support developing countries, which are most affected by the impact of climate change, in cross-sectoral and intergovernmental action. Global action on water will be strengthened and better integrated as a basis to address the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Through technical policy advice, cooperation with key actors and development of frameworks, integrated policy development and implementation especially in developing countries will be supported. Stronger cooperation and coordination through a UN system-wide approach to water and sanitation and pilot measures within the UN development system will support developing countries in their implementation efforts towards the global agendas, integrating water, climate and environmental efforts on all levels.
