Sino-German Climate Change, Green Transition Programme and IKI Interface

The Sino-German Climate Change and Green Transition Programme strengthens cooperation between China and Germany. It enhances China’s climate governance, develops greenhouse gas mitigation frameworks, supports climate action and mutual learning between both countries. Policy dialogues foster mutual understanding, advancing ambitious and inclusive climate targets. Exchange on sectoral emissions reduction informs strategic planning at all levels, promoting a just transition that considers social equity. The project emphasizes subnational efforts to implement the NDC, fostering peer-to-peer exchange among government, academia, civil society, and the private sector. Gender-responsive approaches ensure that climate action benefits all population groups equitably. As the IKI Interface for China, the project plays a key role in networking, coordination, and knowledge sharing among IKI projects in China.
