Strengthening and networking for municipal climate protection measures

Due to political and economic crises an increase in ambition in the area of climate policy cannot be expected at national level in Lebanon for the time being. Therefore the project strengthens the municipalities in their climate protection efforts in order to make municipal climate protection measures more visible by creating a national platform and to capitalise on them for the implementation of the NDC at national level. At the same time, municipalities are encouraged to draw up their own municipal climate protection action plans and set themselves climate protection targets. The platform is intended to facilitate two-way communication between the municipalities and the Ministry of the Environment as well as between the municipalities.
