Bridging Knowledge, Policy and Action for Biodiversity and Climate: Lessons and Action Pathways from the BESPIN Regional Trialogue
Biodiversity loss, climate change and sustainable development are deeply interconnected, yet policies, institutions and knowledge systems addressing these challenges often remain fragmented.
This CBD COP17 side event will build on the outcomes of the BESPIN Regional Trialogue for Europe and Central Asia and the resulting BESPIN Action Document to explore what enables biodiversity and climate commitments to move from knowledge and plans into implementation.
Bringing together policymakers, practitioners, science-policy actors, youth representatives and partner organizations, the discussion will examine practical experiences from Europe and Central Asia and explore how institutional coordination, knowledge uptake, stakeholder engagement and inclusive governance can support implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The session will highlight lessons emerging from Trialogues and related initiatives, share examples from participating countries and identify opportunities for continued collaboration across science, policy and practice communities.
