Cover publication "Climate Governance in the Federal Republic of Germany"

This study sheds light on the interaction between the EU at the supranational level, the German federal state government and the 16 regional states with a view to implementing the German emissions reduction targets. It provides an overview of the climate policy frameworks and respective instruments existing at all three levels of governance, while placing a focus on the role and potential of regional state governments in the planning and implementation of ambitious climate action.
