"1000 Roofs Programme" - Disseminating Solar Thermal Hot Water Production

The project aimed to promote solar thermal energy as a resource-saving and affordable alternative for water heating in selected regions of Brazil. Accordingly, the project partners planned, funded and implemented solar thermal installations in social housing projects. Parallel to this, the project aimed to improve the quality of service provided by local suppliers and maintenance companies. In addition, a national implementation strategy and attractive funding mechanisms were developed together with the project partners to support wider distribution of solar thermal installations. Banks, property developers, installation companies, resident representatives, municipalities and other stakeholders were also involved in the process.
