Transport and Climate Change Week 2022

#TransportWeek2022 will take place this year from 9 to 13 May and will again be available in a hybrid format.
Cooperation and dialogue for global transport change

Only together can we achieve sustainable transport. This requires international cooperation and dialogue to identify solutions to our shared challenges and implement tried-and-tested measures.
Launched by the German Federal Environment Ministry in 2017, Transport and Climate Change Week (TCCW) is now an established event that offers a forum for dialogue and cooperation with and between partners in the Global South.
Since 2022, the event has been jointly organised by the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
TCCW brings together experts and decision-makers from around the world to facilitate knowledge-sharing and networking by means of peer-to-peer formats and workshops. Alongside capacity building, the event offers delegates a chance to acquire new contacts. This aims to build confidence in the attainability of sustainable transport while accelerating the necessary changes.
In recent years, the Berlin-based event has attracted over 2,000 international participants, experts and trainers, who have come together to learn, to share knowledge and experience, and to network with the aim of working on pioneering solutions for the decarbonisation of transport.
The world in a week: TCCW 2022 as a hybrid event
Building on the success of last year’s event, TCCW 2022 will again by using a hybrid format and be made accessible to a wider section of the public for the second year running.
From 9 to 13 May 2022, the conference will open its virtual doors in various regions around the world, so as to promote international dialogue despite the ongoing pandemic. During Transport Week, this ‘globetrotting’ event will move around the world and network regional discussions from individual Conference Days held in Africa (virtual), Asia (virtual), Latin America and South-East Europe. Each day offers a very varied programme of learning and collaborative events on the topics that are relevant and current for the local context.
A global Conference Day in Berlin will offer an international perspective on the regional topics.
The IKI at Transport and Climate Change Week
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) has supported Transport and Climate Change Week since 2017.
Complementing the official programme, the IKI also offers its implementing organisations the chance to engage in dialogue on a wide range of topics in the field of sustainable transport.
