On 7 October 2021, the City of Cape Town Climate Change Action Plans was officially launched. The plan was developed jointly by the city’s administration, civil society and private sector with the support of the IKI Project 17_I_285_Afrika_A_Cities Matter. Through ten focus areas, five cross-cutting work areas and 85 specific actions, it establishes a framework for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the adaptation to the negative impacts of climate change, supporting the transition towards a competitive, resilient and efficient green economy
