What is the value of a fish that is still swimming out in the sea? How do you quantify the value of a marine ecosystem? A new guide for the economic valuation of marine and coastal ecosystem services is intended to help find answers to these questions. It was developed in close cooperation with the Ministries of Environment in Honduras, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic within the framework of the BioBridge Initiative of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and was supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
