This year, the International World Exposition EXPO 2017 will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan on the topic "Energy of the future: action for global sustainability". Therefor a film was created to provide an insight into the climate protection projects financed by the Gernan Environment Ministry (BMUB) in the Eurasian region. The film was produced as part of the overarching program “Capacity Development for Climate Policy in the Western Balkan, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia”, which is funded by BMUB’s International Climate Initiative (IKI). The film shows selected projects and topics of cooperation in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. For many years, projects have been implemented in this region to promote environmental and climate protection on topics like water shortage, green economy or biodiversity.
