Renuka wetland, a Ramsar Site in Himachal Pradesh in India, faces waste management challenges, especially during an annual religious fair which attracts over 100,000+ daily visitors. In November 2023, as part of the nation-wide Save Wetlands Campaign, the state government hosted a Green Renuka Fair, jointly tackling the issue involving local communities, NGOs, tourists, businesses and religious institutions.
