SCALA in Côte d’Ivoire: Boosting food security of women cassava growers
The FAO-UNDP SCALA programme is helping to boost the resilience and food security of women farmers in the cassava value chain in Côte d’Ivoire. SCALA helps women such as Florence adopt agroforestry practices, which enables them to increase their yields, create byproducts such as attiéké (cassava couscous), forge strong social bonds, protect forest cover and improve soil health.
