Unlocking rooftop solar PV in Thailand: Facilitating policy and financial de-risking instruments

Thailand has significant rooftop solar potential, offering renewable energy diversification and consumer-level distributed generation. Despite a 2023 surge in installations due to high electricity prices, adoption remains low due to policy, regulatory, and financial barriers. This study identifies and quantifies investment risks, impacting financial costs, and suggests policy and financial de-risking instruments to boost rooftop solar deployment.
