This report presents the findings from a literature review, interviews and focus group discussions with a wide variety of stakeholders conducted by the Centre for Chinese Agricultural Policy, Chinese Academy of Science, at the ‘Ecosystem-based approaches to adaptation: strengthening the evidence and informing policy’ project site in China, where farmers were assisted in improving and conserving crop varieties that are tailored to local conditions, especially drought.
