COVID-19 and how to establish a sustainable and climate resilient vaccine cold chain
05/2021
COVID-19 is a unique challenge worldwide, not only health-wise but also logistically. Vaccine distribution can be considered the largest refrigeration project ever and the need for freezing and refrigeration technologies is increasing. But how do we ensure that the required cold chains function in the most climate-neutral way possible? Old refrigeration systems often consume large amounts of energy and use climate-damaging gases. This paper sheds light on climate-friendly alternatives.
