Introducing Eco-Efficient Split Air Conditioners with R-290 in Costa Rica

Demand for air conditioning is increasing in Costa Rica, and so are the emissions caused by the appliances. However, climate-friendly, energy-efficient technologies are available. In cooperation with the Directorate of Environmental Quality Management of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, 100 highly efficient air conditioners using the climate-friendly refrigerant propane (R290) were installed in a pilot project. In addition, equipment for installation and maintenance was provided and appropriate training for technicians was organised.
