Climate change impacts people differently. The resilience to overcome climate-induced hazards depends on socio-economic and demographic characteristics as well as gender roles and responsibilities. Latest research has shown that women are at particular risk of disaster displacement. This factsheet helps to better understand gender inequalities and power imbalances with regard to climate migration. Considering gender inequalities in disaster management is key for sustainable transformations.
