Sectoral Policy Brief: Economy-wide Effects of Adaptation in Agriculture in Kazakhstan
The CRED Sectoral Policy Brief on Economy-wide Effects of Adaptation in Agriculture in Kazakhstan presents the macroeconomic implications of investments in two exemplary adaptation measures to climate change in the agriculture sector, namely irrigation systems and parallel driving (precision agriculture). The findings indicate that investing in irrigation measures will create up to 64,000 additional jobs in total (compared to a scenario where droughts occur, but no adaptations measures are taken).
