Knowledge Exchange on Nature Finance
The estimated finance gap to achieve the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) goals is US$ 700 billion per year, underscoring the need for scaling up investments, reforming subsidies, and strengthening financial mechanisms to effectively protect and restore nature. Accordingly, finance has been identified as one of the most important learning needs among conservation practitioners and policymakers. Responding to this need, the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership, PANORAMA – Solutions for a Healthy Planet initiative and UNDP Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) are co-organizing a series of online knowledge exchanges on ‘Nature Finance’ in 2026, featuring implementation experiences and opportunities across the world.
Schedule
- 25 March: Financing protected areas
- 21 May: Sub-national finance
- 1 October: Inclusive nature finance
- 24 November: Private finance for nature.
