Nature-based solutions: achieving climate targets and sustainable agriculture in Viet Nam
This thematic dialogue aims to inform and foster exchange about nature-based solutions (NbS) in the agriculture sector in Viet Nam. Best practices will be shared that combine the principles of climate-smart agriculture (CSA) and ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) to reach Viet Nam’s ambitious climate mitigation and adaptation as well as biodiversity targets and help farmers to increase their productivity. The dialogue will provide discussion on opportunities, challenges and ways forward to promote NbS in Vietnam for government officials, development partners, research organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
The welcome words will be given by Ms. Vera Scholz, Head of Division Thematic Areas and Services, Portfolio Development, Department Asia, Pacific Islands, Latin America, Caribbean, GIZ, followed by a presentation of the results of NbS implementation in Central Vietnam to be given by Dr. Fergus Sinclair, Chief Scientist, ICRAF. Highlight of the event will be a panel discussion with participation of:
